24 Jul 2009
The following positive feedback was taken from a sample of coaching review forms submitted to the coaches at Developing People Limited.
They said the following about the relationship that their coach had established with them.
Excellent, good, fine, open frank and easy to talk to, safe communicative, enjoyable, honest, confidentiality assured. Discussions have helped me to crystallise my thoughts on various topics.
The aspects of the approach that worked well for them were:-
The opportunity to bounce my thoughts off someone from outside the Organisation.
Having an independent person to talk things through with.
The effect on the coachees thinking was:-
Strengthening my belief that it is the people that make the business work.
It has made me develop my reflective skills and to work more on an intellectual and less on an emotional level.
It has given me the confidence to express my thoughts.
Knowing when to stay quiet.
I now see issues in context more.
The new outcomes that they have achieved as a result of the coaching interventions were:-
A better relationship with one colleague in particular.
Plans to develop my team.
Greater confidence that I can perform as a Senior Manager with some specific tools to assist me.
A change of attitude , better planning of my time.
I have stepped back from my day to day work more.
In summary there are lots of benefits and impact that successful coaching can have on the THINKING and ACTING of the coachees. In my next article I will set out the more critical feedback and learning points that have also come from this sample of coachee feedback forms.
